Welcome

The UK has a very strong track record in both the generation and the use of neutrons in the study of condensed matter and has access to world-leading facilities through - ISIS at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Oxfordshire, and the Institut Laue Langevin, Grenoble, France. New facilities under construction in North America and in Japan have the potential to surpass the power of these facilities to which UK scientists currently have access.

In 2005 extensive consultation on the future provision of neutron sources was undertaken with the community, stakeholders and international experts.
