Photographs from the Town Meeting

This exciting and well supported event brought together over 130 attendees representing over 30 Universities and private sector organisations from a broad range of disciplines as well as representatives from OSI, the Research Councils, ISIS and the ILL to discuss the future of neutron science.

Professor John Wood, Chief Executive, CCLRC, opened and chaired the event.


Professor Robert McGreevy (05EC3890)|

Professor Robert McGreevy, ISIS, presented the latest Science Case outlining the challenges and applications of neutron science across all disciplines.


Dr Mike Rowe (05EC3897)|

Dr Mike Rowe, a member of the international panel of neutron technologists, appointed by the CCLRC to consider the roadmap for the provision of future neutron facilities for the UK, presented the key recommendations of the panel's report.

The Town Meeting attracted over 130 attendees, who came to the Royal Society to review and critique the Science Case and the Technology Roadmap.


Discipline based syndicate groups (05EC3915)|

The attendees split into 5 discipline based syndicate groups to discuss the Science Case and Technology Roadmap. The outputs of these sessions will be factored into the final report for the Minister for Science and Innovation.
